Both a Master’s and a PhD degree are good to take up abroad as well as in good research institutes within your country of residence. Some famous research institutes in India are IISc, NCBS, TIFR, IISERs, IITs, and so on (in case you live in India). I think you will have to make a decision depending on whether you are interested in pursuing an academic/research career. If you are, a PhD is a great option. If you are interested in finding a job abroad and have no intention of getting into scientific research, then I would suggest a Master’s degree. I think it’s worth thinking about what you want to pursue before you make a decision.
Hope this helps! All the best!
