While the other answers to this question are correct, during college I approached this question with a much different philosophy. Which not everyone will agree with.Simply stated: I had no backup plan because I wasn’t going to accept any other outcome other than being admitted to med school. Whatever the effort required, the time expended, or the difficulties surmounted. This allowed me to focus on my goal. Successfully.
