USMLE step 1 exam is the most important exam. No one should mess this up. Give your best shot.
Study Kaplan once and watch the Kaplan videos simultaneously. You will get a good grip on the subjects. Then once you are done with this, purchase the online Uworld question bank and start solving it and make notes while you also study the FIRST AID with it. It is not as cumbersome as it sounds. It takes time but doable. Study Goljan for pathology.
Google Step1 questions and you will find sample papers and tons of practice questions. This will validate your knowledge further.
There is a special series of books which you can also find online. It is called Pre-test series. I did this for pathology, pharmacology and microbiology. It will help you a lot. The key is to solve as many questions as you can. Only solving questions will help you remember things. Discuss with your study partner. Ask him/her questions and get yourself challenged by their queries. Once you feel prepared go for NBME mock tests and review yourself. Focus on those subjects which you feel you are weak at.
And finally have a good grip on pathology and pharmacology. This will make up the major chunk of the exam.
