Even though I wrote USMLE after internship, and I was interested in giving step 1 in 3rd year, but some seniors who were not even preparing for exam, suggested me not to do so, as it will be very unfair of not having clinical knowledge.
But after giving exam and going through all study material and Kaplan videos, I will say one thing, it doesn't matter much, on real exam, for step 1, there will be only 2-3 question which will be not covered from all the study material of step 1.
If you go through Kaplan videos, read first aid word by word, and read pathology from pathoma or golijan. They cover the required clinical knowledge required for step 1, so I will say, don't waste time like I did.
If you have time and can prepare while 3-4 year, give exam,as it is said.
Learn from mistake of other people, you have only one lifetime, you can't commit all mistake by yourself and learn.
