No, not completely.The position is that the the UK Home Office will only give a certain number of visas in each category of highly-skilled immigrants. Once that number has been reached, no more visas until next year. So no matter how good the doctor is; no matter how hard she worked to clear her PLAB; no matter how badly she is needed by her employer in the UK: if the magic number has been reached before her visa application reaches the appropriate desk, the answer is no.A stupid and illogical situation, but at least some Indian (and other) doctors do manage to get an application in before the number is reached, and so receive a visa.
