It depends on what your ultimate goal is!If you want to achieve a CCT, i.e complete your entire training from UK, so that you can become a consultant there and in almost all countries except USA , it would be good to appear for PLAB, enter into Core Training, clear your Membership exams and then enter specialty training.
However, if your aim is to practice in the UK short term, or maybe work as a middle grade doctor, and you don't want a CCT, you can directly write your Membership exam and your IELTS & then find a job that's willing to take you!
