Hi! Since you are in your second year who have got plenty of time. For acing USMLE you need to have a strong foundation in Basic Sciences. Read Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology from any standard textbook and develop crystal clear concepts. Revise your first year subjects especially in a clinically oriented way. The most important thing is understanding these subjects and not just mugging up. As far as coaching is concerned, most people don’t join any classes and it’s just self study that is required. But you need to be dedicated a lot.
For USMLE specific resources:
If you are just beginning your preparation then I would suggest watch Kaplan video and study from their lecture notes. This will help you to build strong foundation.
BRS is another great series to go through once if you have plenty of time. These are complementary to Kaplan Notes.
One stop book is definitely first aid. It is the single most important for anyone preparing for USMLE. You should know each and every word of this book by heart. Avoid doing it if you’re just beginning your preparation and have not prior knowledge because otherwise it is really difficult to understand half the stuff written.
Apart from this Uworld for practice is a must. It is a question bank and is essential for practicing so as to get the feel of real exam.
