I guess getting into med school those many years back was simpler. (I am using comparative adjective. ) Mostly because there was less of teaching and education atmosphere..and also because there was less focus on this profession. Girls werent so much motivated either so a large number of potential aspirants didnt succeed. So overall there was less cut throat competition. I say this because my mother tells me this. She saw how much effort i had to put in to get into a med school and she compares it with the time when she didnt really have to do so much work. There was girls quota and the like prevalent too.She is a great doctor now and i really wish i could be like her but she admits that there was very little competition.
