It is well-known for being difficult. I had a 3.9 GPA from Stanford, 40 on the MCAT (I think the scoring is different now but that was 99th percentile), 3 years working in clinical research with 2 publications in process when I applied to medical school. I did quite well in the medical school admissions process and was offered merit scholarships at several schools including a full scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh, and acceptances without scholarships to a couple of “Top 10” schools. Harvard didn’t even offer me an interview.
