Someone is given an Alzheimer's disease diagnosis every 3.2 seconds. An early Alzheimer's disease prevention test was created by University of Washington researchers to assess blood levels of amyloid beta oligomers. According to the Pakistan Observer newspaper.
The test picked up the presence of oligomers in people in the control group who later developed the disease, as well as in those who already had mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease, a type of dementia that causes cognitive problems and memory loss and is currently incurable, is diagnosed in someone somewhere in the world every 3.2 seconds.
